KidJobs

KidJobs is information on projects shooting only in the US. All projects listed will be hiring kids/young adults. Some of the work might be background, acting and/or stunts. Background jobs are more likely to be gotten once you register with a background agency like Kids Background Talent or others listed in the StuntKids information package. KidJobs will occasionally list upcoming stunt activities and stunt news of interest. Attending stunt functions/events is a great way to get exposure and see what is happening in the stunt community. It’s all about communication and getting exposure.

This is how getting exposure/hired with KidJobs works. You don’t need an agent to mail your photo/resume to a stunt coordinator for stunt work on television/film. You don’t need an agent to mail your photo & resume to a casting director for acting roles on television/film. In most cases you do need an agent for commercials. By mailing your photo/resume to stunt coordinators/casting directors you get exposure and make their job easier. If you aren’t what they are looking for they will file your photo/resume. Stunt coordinators and casting directors remember faces and names. Occasionally you will be contacted for an interview/audition. Rarely will you be hired without a referral, interview/audition.

How do I know which projects to submit my son or daughter on?

When it comes to stunts, look closely at the description (age & type) of the kids that are being cast on each project. Is your son or daughter within a year or two of the age mentioned? They might be a good stunt double if the actor has any action. Maybe there are kids in the same age group that will be playing themselves doing physical things (stunts). The stunt coordinator hires the stunt doubles and other stunt personnel.

When it comes to acting, look closely at the description of the character they are looking to cast. Does it sound like they are describing you son or daughter? Does your child have the acting experience the part requires? If so, send a picture and resume to the casting director.

If you have a special ability, skill or talent that is specific to what a project is looking for, highlight it on your resume with a marker to get the stunt coordinators/casting directors attention.

KidJob information along with stunt activities and stunt news will be emailed twice monthly around the 15th & 30th. For a free copy of the most recent KidJobs email me at stuntkids@earthlink.net or call 818-259-7664.

A KidJobs twice monthly emailed subscription is $20.00. It can be made out to StuntKids at 25124 Walnut Street Newhall, CA 91321

As always, thanks for your interest in StuntKids! Call me with your questions; 818-259-7664.
